The first edition was a Victorian dream: gold light on stone, roses at every hem, a house that felt like a memory. It found its people. Dusk is the same house after the lamps have been lit.

Every card has been updated and refined so the deck sits in one consistent world. The palette dropped half a stop. The velvet reads softer, the metal has weight, and the faces are more particular. The estate, the chapel, the vineyard, and the foggy street now belong to the same evening.

Dusk is not darkness for its own sake. It is the hour when the work feels closer, and more of this world. The sword stays sharp. The rose stays alive. Together they ask you to read with both.

What did not change is the language you already know. Upright and reversed meanings, timing notes, yes / no / maybe keys, and astrological correspondences are intact, so a returning reader can step from the first edition to Dusk without learning a new dialect. If you held the first deck, welcome back. If this is your first Sword & Rose, welcome to the house at nightfall.

The structure is still a full 78-card Rider-Waite, Victorian in dress and modern in hand: intellect and emotion, strength and softness, challenge and growth.
